What’s in the knitting basket?

It has been coldcoldcold here of late, but the sun came out to play and I just had to take advantage for a little photo shoot.  As usual, the knitting basket contains My Big Three. First we have the big project, which was photographed after I froze my derriere taking the other pictures featured in today’s post. The things I do.

The Wallaby is growing. It’s a toss-up over who is growing faster, Laserman or his Wallaby. I am making the equivalent of a size 14 and it just better fit.  That is all.

Oh — back to the basket.  The second project is my portable knitting which,  during the winter months, means a scarf:

Its a  Feather and Fan stitch pattern.  38 stitches across? I forget. The yarn is Rowan Kid Classic; shade 847. I LOVE IT!  The yarn was a Christmas gift from Laserman; who was immediately forgiven for growing up so fast.

The third project is socks – I always have socks on the needles:

The Gentleman’s Fancy Socks are humming along – I love magic loop!  Consider me a convert.   I did pick up the Bev Galeskas pamphlet and, as I suspected, there were some tips and tricks to get around the heel gusset more efficiently. I don’t think this is all in my head: socks really do knit up faster with a magic loop.  Good thing, because I….well…uh…um…you know that resolution goal about knitting from the yarn wall? Well, I sniffed too many yarn fumes and in a fit of sock enthusiasm, I signed up for Woolgirl’s sock club. Yes, that makes 2, count ‘em, 2 sock clubs.  George Bush wants me to spend this money, people!  I’m a good American! I will have 11 packages arriving over the course of the year.  I already have lots of sock yarn (don’t look at my stash pictures) so, as my folks used to say - this will keep me off the streets.  I think Cupid is arranging to bring me Cat Bordhi’s New Pathways for Sock Knitters for V-Day. If he isn’t well, I will just casually mention to the Mr. that I’ve been updating the blog and has he read it lately?

Off to the bus stop!  My Pumpkin awaits.
