I finally finished the Indigo Ripples skirt. Since I did not use the recommended denim yarn, I renamed the skirt Raspberry Ripple. Keen observers will note that I messed around with the dimensions of the pattern as well, making the top section longer and eliminating same lace repeats. As much as I hate to admit it, swatching was a very very good thing, as my row gauge was crucial to getting a skirt with the length I wanted. I knit this with Knitpicks’ Shine Sport and there was some row shrinkage to account for. This is also a very stretchy skirt and my first attempt was frogged as it would have fit around Pumpkin and myself – that’s cotton for ya!
Corn’s getting high…we’ve even spotted a few tiny ears.

Ugh – the ever-so-flattering back view. Time to break out the Spanx – a wonderful invention if ever there was. It has been so hot here of late that VPL is my last concern. Ripple and I went to the pool yesterday as a swimsuit coverup- perfect! I sat in the one shady corner with my wide-brimmed straw hat, my don’t-bug-me sunglasses and knit away on the next unfinished project – the Reinas.
