Basic Vest

Done! I used 3ish skeins of Cascade 220, adapted Ann Budd’s basic vest pattern to be knit in the round, and it was off to the races.  Hub asked very politely if I would please cut off his head. He’s been a little under the weather, not sleeping well, and needs a haircut, resulting in a facial expression that looks as if I tied him to a chair and fed him lemons.

Sometimes a simple, straightforward knit can be so satisfying. I started a linen stitch hat a few nights ago for just that reason. The rows aren’t very tall, so it’s progressing slowly, but I love the rhythm I get going with the stitch.

The miles of stockinette on this project got to me after awhile, but the vest was quick, thank goodness. It was perfect for knitting group, since all the gabbing makes it hard for me to focus on more complex patterns. Your hat sounds lovely. Hey, I may be making your Pangea shawl. I came upon about 880 yards of some lovely laceweight and, in the process of scoping out Rav for patterns, happened upon your shawl. I faved the pattern and will hopefully get to it sometime this summer.
